These are articals that relate to adding scenery to the layout.
04-11-08 Change of Scenery
The first change of scenery is the website itself. I installed a new content management system to fix a few things that I did not like about the previous one I was using. The original content is still here. I have added a feature to the Expansion section that will group the articles by the type of work.
The second change of scenery is on the layout. I decided to take a break from model building and work on some scenery. I started work on the mountain ridge that will span the two modules between the Ntrak module and the yard module.
06-07-08 Plastered
I have added a layer of plaster to the mountain ridge.
06-14-08 Tunnel Portal
Before I could continue the scenery on the mountain ridge, I had to install the tunnel portal.
06-29-08 Creating A Seam
I had to deal with the seam where the removable mountain ridge meets the plywood.
07-20-08 Rock Wall
I had to add a rock wall where the track cuts through the ridge.
08-03-08 Smoothing the Ridge
I had to smooth out the depressions the plaster cloth formed when it was draped over the cardboard structure on the mountain ridge.
08-23-08 Engine House Foundation
Now that the engine house is constructed, I could build its foundation.
08-30-08 Ground Work
I constructed the rest of the ground around the engine house and the front of the module.
09-14-08 Mini Ridge
I worked on the ridge that will sit in front of the track forming the opposite side of the rock cut.
09-28-08 Rocks and Undercoat
Before I could apply a basic ground color, I decided to add some rock outcroppings
10-26-08 Ground Covering
After many delays, I was able to add ground cover on the mountain ridge and the surrounding area.
11-16-08 Ballast
I ballasted the track on the end loop module that I have been working on.

06-27-10 Corner Module Scenery
I worked on the scenery on the corner module that sits between the original NTrak module and the end loop module containing the mountain ridge and engine house.

I have started working on the foundations and roads for the brewery complex. The first up is the warehouse.

I constructed the foundation and road for the mill in the brewery complex.

I started to work on the foundations and roads for brewery buildings on the backside of the tracks.

02-26-11 Going Vertical Again
I started to work on the second mountain ridge on the layout. The ridge runs along the back of the brewery complex. It will help conceal the track end loop. I am designing it to be removable like the first mountain ridge.
03-19-11 Ridge Framing
I started working on the ridge structure that will eventually support the ground surface.
04-09-11 Ridge Framing Continued
I continued installing the vertical supports on the mountain ridge located behind the brewery complex.
04-23-11 Ridge Lattice
I laid down a cardboard lattice on the ridge surface.
05-14-11 Plastered Again
I placed plaster cloth on the ridge that will sit behind the brewery.
06-12-11 Ridge Smoothing
I worked on smoothing the ridge surface.
07-03-11 Blending In
I blended the removable ridge into the layout.
07-16-11 Ground Prep
I worked on preparing the ground around the brewery complex for Sculptamold
08-06-11 Ground Work
I filled in the rest of the areas around the brewery complex with Sculptamold.
08-21-11 Ground Undercoat
I painted the ground surfaces with an earth colored undercoat. This will show through any areas not covered with ground foam.
09-24-11 Ridge Ground Cover
I added various ground coverings to the mountain ridge that sits behind the brewery complex.
10-15-11 Brewery Scenery
I added scenery around the brewery complex.
11-26-11 Corner Module 2 Scenery
I worked on the scenery on the module that sits between the brewery complex module and the original NTRAK module.
01-21-12 Not So Shady Creek
I rehabbed the rest of the original NTRAK module.

07-08-12 Building Trees
Over the last few months I have been slowly working on trees to plant on the layout.

I planted most of trees that I reconditioned or built.

Work on the layout has been slow over the last few months. I did make a new batch of trees and planted them.
